Endeavour presents a split screen. On one side: academics in the top decile of its demographic peer group, a fifth of the building identified highly capable, and one of only two campuses in Issaquah hosting MERLIN, the district's self-contained gifted program. All of that feeds the Beaver Lake and Skyline pathway many Eastside families specifically want. On the other side, the adults in the building just went through a genuine crisis. A former dean's October 2025 lawsuit against the district alleged sexual harassment by the then-principal and improper physical restraint of students. Parents protested at board meetings, the union claimed most of the staff had fled, and the district cycled through an interim principal before installing a proven leader from Cascade Ridge for 2026-27.
The student outcomes never flinched through any of this, which tells you the instructional core is sturdy. But a family touring now is evaluating a school in year one of a deliberate leadership reset. The academic case is proven; the culture case is being rebuilt in real time. Families applying to the MERLIN gifted program have extra reason to look anyway. Neighborhood families should tour with the leadership transition as their first question, not an afterthought.
