The verdict

Think of International School as a seven-year contract you sign in 5th grade, one that roughly six of every seven applying families never get the chance to sign. The "7x7" model locks every student into the same seven subjects for all seven years: no course shopping, French as the only world language, no varsity sports on campus, and a grading scale where a D earns zero credit. In exchange you get one of the most consistent outcome machines in the state: a reported 100% graduation rate, universal Advanced Placement (AP) participation averaging nine AP courses per graduate, and English language arts proficiency at the 95th percentile even against demographically similar schools. Given the applicant math (about 650 applications for roughly 92 sixth-grade seats, per the school's own profile), the practical question isn't whether to like this school. It's whether your plan survives a one-in-seven lottery, and whether a kid who might discover football, Japanese, or a passion the 7x7 doesn't cover at age 15 can be happy inside a structure chosen at age 10.

That is the free excerpt.
