The verdict

Eastlake's raw statistics read like a brochure: 26 National Merit Semifinalists in 2026, a 96.9% four-year graduation rate, an average SAT of 1293, and an 88% pass rate across more than 3,000 Advanced Placement (AP) exams. Here is the number the brochure leaves out. Measured against 17 demographically similar Washington high schools, Eastlake sits at the 52.9th percentile in math proficiency and the 35.3rd in English Language Arts (ELA). In other words, the outcomes largely track what a 5.9%-low-income Sammamish enrollment predicts, rather than showing unusual value added by the school itself. That doesn't make Eastlake weak; it makes it a strong default whose strength is mostly the peer group you're buying with the house. And you do buy it with a house, because transfers into Eastlake are closed for 2026-27.

The question that should actually drive your decision is newer than the test scores. Since fall 2025, the district's six-period day gives students exactly 24 course slots over four years, the precise number of credits Washington requires to graduate. A failed class, a four-year orchestra habit, or an off-campus vocational program now spends margin that no longer exists. Kids who plan their transcript early and plug into Eastlake's deep competition scene will do very well here. Families wanting schedule slack, arts breadth, or a building where anonymity isn't the default should look closer.
